One month ago today we entered the hospital thinking William had food allergies. After a simple sonogram one Sunday evening, the pediatrician shared the news that a "mass" was found. The following morning, we had an oncologist at our door referring to a "tumor" in our 6-month-old baby and a bunch of residents and other staff looking in our room with long sad faces. By the end of that day, we were told it was inoperable cancer.
It's hard to remember what life was like before everything changed. Now, with one round of chemo down and the next quickly approaching around the corner for next week, I'm thankful for the little snipits of the old William we're getting here and there...the little corner smirk smile, a belly laugh here and there and a good feisty fight during a diaper change....ahhhh yes, that's my boy!
