William still loves to be swaddled, even if it is for his brief catnaps.
By this point in our journey, William was approaches his worst sleep habits (which continue to date). He sleeps in brief intervals, guaranteed to either hit a 20-minute mark or sometimes the glorious 40-minutes (ooooo, lucky Mommy!). Nights are just terrible, since William is up constantly, typically continuing his 20/40 minute cycles. Extensive blood work has confirmed William's tumor is emitting catecholamines, the "fight or flight" hormones produced by the adrenal gland (where William's tumor originated). These include stress hormones like adrenaline/epinephrine, norepinephrine and dopamine. In addition to physical discomfort from his massive tumor and his intestinal complications, William is literally flying high on stress hormones.
Needless to say, we let him take his notorious catnaps anytime he'd like.
