Mommy is supposed to work on Thursday, but how could she leave her super cute valentine on this special day? (Let's just say we had to make other arrangements).
Nicholas came downstairs and noticed his valentine basket right away - he sure has an eye to catch anything new and different in the house! We wanted to wait until Daddy was home for presents, but Nicholas insisted on playing with his frog balloon.
He was all smiles at breakfast - perhaps the sprinkles we added to our oatmeal had something to do with that?
Then we called cousin Dillon to wish him a happy day.

Nicholas was all over the house with the speaker phone on.... hmmmm, where would he get that idea?
A little running with the phone...
"Oh Dillon, you are so silly!"
We shared one of our specially made cookies for dessert.
"Hey watch, I can crumble my cookie just like Cookie Monster!"
Then we "attempted" to make rice crispy treats for the Mom's Group get-together. Nicholas stuffed an entire marshmallow in his mouth.
After dinner, Nicholas opened his valentine from Grandma and Grandpa - promptly saying 'duck' to the picture!
He really liked that card!
Finally time for presents! Since Nicholas loves to take care of babies, we gave him a Cabbage Patch kid that goes in the bathtub. He did his best to wait patiently while Daddy opened the million wire twists holding it in the packaging...
...and carefully examined his new friend Ronnie. I swear he was expecting Ronnie to say something.
After bathtime, Grandma and Grandpa made a surprise visit to see their little valentine. Nicholas was too busy being on the move (and brushing his teeth) to check out the awesome collection of books they brought him - but he surely will enjoy them.
