Happy 4th

What a fantastic long weekend we had! We kicked off the celebration by taking in the sights and smells (literally) of the Manlius Parade. Daddy played photographer and captured what I'd like to call
"The Many Faces of Nicholas."
'The parade is coming' face
'Ahh man! These pesty eye teeth are at it again!'
'Yup, its a double-finger day!'
(which was basically what Nicholas looked like all weekend - we're in teething terror here!)
'A DumDum sucker, now that's something to smile about!'
''Hmmm, I wonder if I'll land me any more candy!'
'Who invited the garbage trucks to the parade?'
"See, see..."
When we got back home, Nicholas treasured his candies from the parade until it was nap time. He was perfectly content just carrying his loot around with him.

Nicholas went into the neighbor's in ground pool with his nifty wetsuit flotation system (which was hysterically funny), but frankly, it was too much work for Mommy to get to enjoy the weekend, so we resurrected his pool from last year. He looks a little different in it now, would you say?...but still all the same fun as the big pool. Even the 'big boys' liked it!
Always on top of his mowing responsibility
Nicholas is really into keeping up with the 'big kids' of the neighborhood. He watches their every move and loves to be in the playset with them.
They carry on conversations together. But in the end, Nicholas is always sure to remind them of who rules the roost.

Thankfully, the 'big boys' let him drive the ship.

The Cozy Coupe is always a favorite...
Nicholas thinks its hysterical to make his backwards escape in the coupe.

Happy Independence Day!
