Fun At The Fair!

"Today I had my first trip to the Fair! I loved the cow barn. A bunch of cows were mooing like crazy - I nearly giggled my diaper off!"

"At the petting zoo, my favorite were the baby goats. I did my best to touch them, but Daddy was too worried about the germ factor - as if I would put my fingers in my mouth after petting an animal!"
"I don't have time to pose for a picture - isn't that a yak over there!"
"Daddy was so proud of himself for winning me a fish."
"Just for the record, I'd much rather have a cow or a goat for my first pet - they seemed much more exciting than this fish!"
"Hey Daddy, check out that cute sheep over there!"
"Aren't I supposed to crawl through this thing - come on, I think I can make it!"
"Bring me to the beach and we can make a great sand castle like this one Daddy!!!"

"The best part of the fair was the free balloon - go figure!!!"
"Mommy even shared a bite of her fried dough with me. I loved it!!!"

We also made the mistake of giving Nicholas what was supposed to be a "sip" of chocolate milk. He wouldn't surrender the cup and threw a fit in the middle of the dairy building when we tried to take it away. Listen to him yum this up!

My Newest Cousin

Today we went to Tully to meet Baby Johnny - he was so cute!

"Cousin Vincent was my buddy for the day. We even shared a piece of corn together AND got to picnic in the living room!"
Nicholas sure has grown since the last time we got a picture of him and Daddy at Aunt Beth's house!
"Vincent had this huge Elmo and made me belly laugh like crazy!!!"

Dinner at the Lake

Saturday afternoon, we decided to hit Rudy's for dinner. After Nicholas surrendered his pickle (yes, he was eating yogurt with the pickle still in his cheek!) and shared mint ice cream with Mommy, he loved checking out the waves with Daddy.

Keeping Cool With Livi!

"It sure was a scorcher today! Olivia had me over for a splash in her pool. I especially loved chomping on the dolphin's tail fin. Thankfully my 2 teeth didn't pop it!"

Getting Stuck Just Isn't Fun For a 9-Month Old!

Nicholas learned a little about frustration tolerance today - seeing that our little Mr. Independence got himself stuck a few times. He was rather unhappy with the walker when he sudden had no more room to cruise...

...and then had a lot to say when he crawled backwards and got wedge between the couch and the chair (of course, since that one happened at 9:30 tonight, he didn't get much sympathy from Mommy and Daddy!).

Cousin Bonding

It was so nice to have Dillon in town for 2 weekends in a row! The tractor at Aunt Elaine's house gave hours of entertainment (yes, that's a warning that this video is a little lengthy!).

Feelin' Alright!

Nicholas and Daddy enjoyed their morning together when Mommy was at cousin Pezz's baby shower. By dinner, he was still pretty happy - who knew pee-a-boo through a half-filled sippy cup could be so much fun!

Day of Surprises

"Daddy surprised us by taking off the day and coming home with a new camera for Mommy's birthday. It's so nifty and fast, it can even catch me in my peruana-attack eating!"

There's nothing like starting the day with some love from Zoey

Even before breakfast, Nicholas shows Zoey his love. We all know Zoey will put up with all his attempts at "gentle touches" if she can spend some time on his blanket!

Our String Bean

Tuesday Nicholas went for his 9-month check-up. He weighed in at 18 pounds 4 ounces and is officially a string bean. At 29" long, he's in the 75th%, but the 10th% for weight. The doctor's order...EAT, EAT EAT!

Our Backwards Creeper

Nicholas is getting all around the family room now - only one minor problem...when you are traveling feet-first, you can't see where you are going!

Mommy Is How Old?

"I know I haven't started counting yet, but I think I'll need a few more fingers & toes to count to Mommy's age!"

We had a nice afternoon walking at Beaver Lake.
Nicholas hasn't quite mastered the art of our family self-portraits yet (even after holding the camera down in the flowers that were so exciting to look at in the 10 previous shots)!

"On Friday I tried cheese for the first time - it was lip-smacking good melted on my wheat tortilla."

"Yesterday we took Grandma and Dillon out for gelato. I loved the vanilla gelato - and most of all the piece of waffle cone! Cousin Dillon only liked the cone - boy did he miss-out!"
"At breakfast today, Mommy and Daddy ordered me my first meal - an English Muffin! So much for the request of 'lightly toasted with butter on the side!' It was all fine with me though!"

Dillon Shares His Walker...well, sort of

"Check it out...Aunt Angela & Uncle Jim are loaning me Dillon's walker! Dillon even gave me a lesson on how to use it. I guess he thinks its his job to push his lil' cousin all around - whether I'm in the Radio Flyer wagon, on the tractor or in the walker."

"Once I got the hang of it, Dillon started some maneuvers to slow me down - like this famous one where he got under the walker. Ummm Dillon, can you move!"
"Sorry Dillon, there isn't room in here for both of us.

He really didn't seem like he was ready to give up the walker - what do you think?"

There's A Fish In the Tub!

"I got extra splash time tonight when Daddy was lowering my crib. Have you heard that I've figured out how to pull myself to stand-up in my crib!"

Nicholas' Bicep Curls

Nicholas just loves books - even if they only have 1 page!

Special Dinner Guest

"Aunt Patty had dinner with me tonight. I of course rose to the occasion to show-off my hearty appetite! Thanks for the company, Aunt Patty!"

When Mommy doesn't finish cleaning my bathroom...

"... I get to take a tubby in the kitchen sink! (And by the way, Mommy tried to take many pictures of me in there, but I was too busy exploring to look at her for ANY of them!)"

Look Who's Scooting!

Nicholas sure surprised me yesterday when I found him all the way over at his toy basket. He had been in front of his xylophone and somehow managed to make a 180 turnaround. He's been scooting all around on his butt the last couple of days.

I guess it was his way of telling me he wanted something from the basket!

Pool Party at the Vierra's!!!

Our neighbors had us over for a pool party! Emily pushed me in her great swing. I loved all the attention from Emily and being with the big boys...all 11 of them that were there!

Two Boys & A Tractor

"Great Papa's nurse brought us some entertainment this afternoon - this really cool tractor! Cousin Dillon pulled me all around!"

"Hey hey...I'm in charge now! We're outta here Nicholas!!!"
